About Michael
Michael learned the rudiments of metalwork at a young age experimenting in the shop of his blacksmith father.
During high school he studied metalwork and ceramics at the University of the Arts and at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA.
After high school Michael attended the Graduate Jeweler Program at the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, CA.
After graduation he served a two year apprenticeship cutting gemstones in southern New Jersey.
A few years later a friend introduced Michael to lampworking glass. He then attended classes in glasswork, of various types, at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning NY, the Carlisle School of Glass Art in Millville NJ, Salem Community college in Carneys Point NJ, and East Falls Glassworks in Philadelphia PA.
Michael has since taught many classes in glassblowing and metalworking at various schools, and served as the teaching assistant for many other instructors including Loren Stump, Lucio Bubacco, Paul Stankard.
